Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or using CharityVPN, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the service. These Terms apply to the CharityVPN iOS and Android apps, any web experience we offer, and the underlying VPN tunnels.
2. What CharityVPN is
CharityVPN is a consumer VPN service. We operate servers in several regions and route your network traffic through them over encrypted WireGuard tunnels while you are connected. We do not log your browsing activity or DNS queries.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use CharityVPN. By creating an account you represent that you meet this requirement.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for your account and for the activity that occurs through it. Keep your device and sign-in credentials secure. Contact us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
5. Subscriptions and billing
- CharityVPN is billed monthly. There are no annual plans and no long-term commitments. Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
- The minimum contribution is $2/month (USD). You may choose to pay more in-app, and change that amount at any time.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Depending on your device, you may pay using Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a card.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from the app. Your access continues through the end of the billing period you've already paid for. We don't issue pro-rata refunds for the current period.
7. Charity contributions
Each month, after paying for server operations and payment-processing fees, we donate the remainder of our revenue to the charities our users selected during that billing period. Donations are aggregated and sent through Every.org. We publish a monthly summary showing amounts donated and recipient charities.
The exact share that reaches charity varies with underlying costs. We will not knowingly misrepresent the charity portion.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use CharityVPN to:
- Violate any applicable law or infringe the rights of others.
- Send spam, phishing, malware, or conduct denial-of-service attacks.
- Scan or probe systems you don't have permission to test.
- Bypass region restrictions in ways that breach other services' terms.
We reserve the right to throttle, restrict, or terminate accounts engaged in abusive activity.
9. No-logs commitment
We do not log your browsing activity, DNS queries, or destinations. We store minimal operational metadata (such as allocated peer IP and last handshake timestamps) to keep the service running; see our Privacy Policy for specifics.
10. Service availability
CharityVPN is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We aim for high uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
11. Intellectual property
CharityVPN, the app, the website, and related trademarks are ours. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from the service except as allowed by law.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CharityVPN disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CharityVPN's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the amounts you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
14. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that present risk to the service or other users.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use after an update means you accept the new Terms.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which CharityVPN is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction for any disputes.
